The leadership of the Eti-Osa Lawyers’ Forum led by its Chairman Mr. M M A Sanni and other members paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of Lagos State. Honourable Justice Kazeem Alogba on Tuesday 8th of September.

While receiving the delegation, the CJ in company of other Principal Officers of the Lagos State Judiciary, noted that collaboration between the Bar and the Bench is important for a proper functioning of the Justice Delivery Sector, stating that he was a thorough bred Bar man before crossing to the Bench

The Chairman of the Eti-Osa Lawyers’ Forum sought clarifications on the status of the Christopher Olatunde Segun Courthouse, whether it is a Judicial Division on its own or an extension of an existing judicial division. The CJ responded by stating that at present, the court is under the existing Lagos Judicial Division.

However, the CJ stated that one cardinal Policy of his administration is to bring justice closer to the people, hence “You can rest assured that Christopher Olatunde Segun Court House Eti-Osa, shall become Eti-Osa Judicial Division soon”

The CJ went further to state that he is poised to creating more Judicial Division within the state barring the availability of resources and facilities, as this will lead to reduced cost for lawyers and litigants as well as reduce the stress of transportation.

He further noted that the court shall commence sitting after the vacation as two judges and three Magistrates have been posted to the Court House and that he will be willing to post a third judge to the Court House based on the traffic of cases brought to the court.
