History was made on Friday, 28th August, 2020 as Mr. OLUMIDE AKPATA was peacefully and successfully sworn in as the 30th President of the Nigerian Bar Association.

The Governor of the Eastern Bar Forum S. Long Williams on behalf of the forty-five branches of the Nigerian Bar Association that constitute the Forum despatched forty-five salutes and congratulatory messages to President OLUMIDE AKPATA on his swearing-in as the 30th President of the Nigerian Bar Association.

The Eastern Bar Forum which presently boasts of five elected officers (and one officer still loading) in the newly sworn-in executive of the Nigerian Bar Association also extended its salutation and felicitations to other elected officers of the NBA.

The Eastern Bar Forum Governor urged President OLUMIDE AKPATA and his executives to do everything humanly possible to unite the Bar and make the Bar work for all. He noted that the narrative of Nigerians on the NBA presently is abysmal, discomforting, negative, and embarrassing. The Governor stated that the Eastern Bar Forum is confident that this new executive will change the narrative and make the Bar the bride of Nigerians again.

On behalf of the Eastern Bar Forum, the Governor extended the love, prayers, and good wishes of all members of the Forum to the new executive.
