A High Court sitting at Idemili Judicial Division in Anambra state has sacked HRM Igwe Dr. L.O Arinze as the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Adazi.

In the judgment delivered by the presiding judge, Justice H.O Ozoh brought before the court by Dr. L.O Arinze, the Plaintiffs challenged the refusal by Anambra Broadcasting Corporation to air their paid advertisement.

The other plaintiffs in the case were Chief Sir, J.C Ezeokonkwo, and Ichie B. U Ufoegbunam.

After listening to both parties in the suit NO: A/274/2008, Justice Ozoh, in the wisdom of the court did not only throw Dr. L.O Arinze away as the Igwe it held that Enugwu-Adazi is not an autonomous Community and not in the list of 177 communities in Anambra state.

In the court judgment made available to TNL, Justice Ozoh further held that Dr. L.O Arinze is not a recognized Igwe or obi

“That it is against the Broadcasting Service Law of the Defendant in Section 16. The Defendant was therefore right when it refused to air the announcement,” the court held.

The judge also dismissed the plaintiffs’ suit accordingly for lacking in merit.

Dr. L.O Arinze had in 2008 initiated a legal action against Anambra Broadcasting Corporation popularly known as Anambra Broadcasting Service for refusing to advertise his event which was slated for 8th and 9th of August, 2008 after he had made payment for such service to ABS and receipt issued to him.

An international body had scheduled 8th of August, to host United Flag as well as to celebrate the 1st plaintiff, who was appointed an Ambassador of Peace by UN-POLAC while members of Igwe in Council of Enugwu-Adazi Kingdown with the Executive Committee of Enugwu-Adazi community also fixed 9th to mark their New Yam Festival.
