The Chief Judge of Lagos has ordered the suspension of all court activities till further notice.

The suspension is against the lockdown order by President Buhari and the governor of Lagos State, Babjide Sanwo-Olu.

The Notice of suspension signed by the Chief Registrar, Mrs. D. T. Olatokun dated 30th March, 2020 and made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL), reads in part:

“….The public is hereby notified that:

1. With effect from Tuesday 31st March 2020, all court activities are suspended till further notice
Save that:
The administrative Magistrates of the seven (7) Magistraterial Districts (Ikeja, Lagos, Yaba, Ikorodu, Apapa, Badagry, and Epe) will sit to take remand/bail applications relating to:
I. Terrorism
II. Armed Robbery
III. Homicide and other non-bailable offences
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 10:00 am to 1:00 pm each day.

“The Assistant Chief Registrar (administrative) in each District will serve as Registrar for such sitting.”
