The Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Honourable Justice I.U. Bello, FINALS, has directed that until further notice, Courts are to modify their cause list to reduce the number of cases listed per day.

This directive was given in a circular titled, “Measures To Contain The Coronavirus Pandemic (Covid-19)”, which is dated the 20th day of March, 2020, and sighted by TNL.

According to His Lordship, the modification is to avoid crowding of Court rooms.

He also added that only necessary parties to the cases should be admitted into Court rooms.

His Lordship further stressed that while he pleads for the understanding of all, we must appreciate the need to put in place these important and necessary containment measures.

The letter copied the Chief Registrar of the Court, the Chairmen of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja, the Chairman of the NBA, Bwari, and that of Gwagwalada, and of course the General public.
