A fake lawyer by the name Lawrence Oyenedu has been apprehended by some security operatives, TNL had learnt.

Luck ran out of the said imposter when he was discovered by one Olayele Kevin Faturoti Esq., as a fake lawyer, subsequently, upon which he was arrested at Ota.

According to the information made available to TheNigerialawyer (TNL), the fake lawyer claimed to have attended UNILAG and graduated in 2003, after which he went to Lagos Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in Lagos in 2004, being called in 2004 by IDRIS LEGBO KUTIGI, former CJN.

The suspect also claimed to be a former Litigation clerk and thereafter became a counsel at Robert Clarke, SAN, law firm, which said office he presently uses as corresponding address.

He also claimed SCN:15840392 as his Supreme Court Number. Investigation, however, revealed that he was once a litigation clerk at the Learned Silk’s office where he was disengaged several years ago; that he attended the Open University in 2015 as a result of which he began parading himself and started practicing as a legal Practitioner.

Following the revelation, some legal documents which he prepared and illegally franked were retrieved from him. He was said to have been recognized as a Practicing lawyer having appeared in several courts of the land.

TNL was also informed that several other persons, whom the said suspect had once represented as a counsel made statements against him, including but not limited to Mr. Zaccheous Sokunbi, whom the suspect collected the sum of N400, 000.00 from for a brief on a land matter in Ogun state which is now pending before Hon. Justice Fabamwo; Statements were written against him on behalf of NBA Ota branch.

The said fake lawyer, Lawrence Oyedenu is presently undergoing further investigation after which he will be arraigned in the appropriate court, it was learnt.
