One of the police officers investigating the killing of young women in Rivers State, Sergeant Ogbomudia Emegbokuro, has identified some of the victims of the suspected serial killer, Gracious David-West.

Emegbokuro, who was at the Rivers State High Court on Friday, also pointed out some of the hotels, where the suspect allegedly committed the crime.

Appearing in the witness box, he told the court that while one Maureen Ewuru was found dead inside a room in Brooklyn Hotel in D-Line, Port Harcourt, Linda Warifa Samuel was murdered at Ivory Hotel in Oyigbo,

The police sergeant further pointed out that another young woman, Onuoha Kelechi Bridget, was found dead at Pachik Hotel in Rumuodumaya, Obio/Akpor LGA, while Blessing Effiong was reportedly killed by the suspect at Tokyo Grand Hotel located on Stadium road in Port Harcourt.

Emegbokuro noted that two other young women, who were allegedly murdered by David-West, were Jennifer Nwokocha, murdered at Venus Hotel located at GRA, Phase 2 in Port Harcourt; and Dorcas Francis, who later died in the hospital.

“The police arrested the suspect along the Port Harcourt-Akwa Ibom road in Nonwa, (Tai LGA) inside the bus. He (suspect) was in on his way from Port Harcourt to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

“When they interrogated him, he confessed to the murders and was handed over to the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, who personally interrogated him.

“The Police Commissioner then handed him over to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad for further investigation. The suspect again confessed to the crimes at FSARS where they took his statement,” he further stated.

The police sergeant also told the court that two dead bodies were found inside a hotel on Bendel Street, where the second suspect, who is the manager of the hotel, identified as Nimi ThankGod, was allegedly paid to report the matter to nearest police station.

He added that ThankGod never reported the matter to the police, but disposed the body of the deceased along Aggrey road in the State capital.

But the suspect, David-West, admitted ownership of the confessional statement made at the office of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Rivers State.

The suspect’s statement, it was gathered, contained how he killed the young women in the hotels in some parts of the State.

However, the trial Judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, after admitting as exhibits a document containing the death certificates and photographs of some of the victims, adjourned further hearing of the case till January 17, 2020.
