The 2nd Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Dr. Foluke Dada, has resigned her membership of the Ado-Ekiti Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association to the Lagos branch of the NBA.

The National officer of the NBA made this known in a letter dated the 13th day of September, 2019, which was addressed to the Chairman of the branch through the Secretary. According to her, the reason for the decision is because her practice has been relocated to Lagos, hence the necessity for a reconsideration of her Branch membership.

The letter partly reads;

“May I seize this opportunity to appreciate the entire members of the Ado-Ekiti Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association for the confidence reposed in me to serve the Ekiti Bar and contribute to the development of the mother Branch.

May I also inform the Branch that my practice has been relocated to Lagos, hence the necessity for a reconsideration of my Branch membership. It is, therefore, necessary, courteous and professional that I inform the Ado-Ekiti Branch of my decision to resign my membership of the Ado-Ekiti Branch as I have moved my membership to the Lagos Branch of the NBA with immediate effect.

I sincerely appreciate the Ekiti Bar for remaining strong and relevant, building from the legacies we, the prior leaders have established and for remaining vibrant as a Branch. Since Ekiti is my home, I remain with you in spirit and would not relent in pushing forward the virtues of Ekiti Bar within and beyond the borders of Nigeria. Thanks once again and may Almighty God bless you all. Amen.”
