The Governing Council and distinguished learned Members of the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF) under the admirably dynamic leadership of the Governor of the EBF, His Excellency, Soseipriye LongWilliams, Esq., received with rude shock, the heartrending news of the abduction of the Chairman of the Mid-West Bar Forum, Mr. Chike Onyemenam, SAN by unidentified gunmen on Saturday, 14th September, 2019.

We condemn in absolute terms this dastardly act and call on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to urgently collaborate with state governments, to re-engineer, reinvigorate and remodel the nation’s security agencies for optimal service delivery by reducing to the barest minimum, crimes and criminality in our country.

We further call on the Delta State Government to swing into action immediately and engender the safe release of our Bar Leader.

We urge governments at all levels to make the protection of lives and property and the welfare of the citizens its topmost priorities by creating a conducive, investors friendly environment that will trigger massive employment opportunities and a resultant drastic decrease in deviant behaviours.

The Federal and State Governments must massively invest in education and take people off the streets and objectively reduce to the barest minimum, poverty in Nigeria.

We finally call on the Creator of life and King of the Universe, Jehovah God to touch the abductors and make them manifest remorse and release unharmed, Mr. Chile Onyemenam, SAN.

Long live the EBF!
Long live the MWBF!!
Long live the NBA!!!
Long live the FRN!!!!

Samuel Etuk, Esq.,
Asst. Secretary, EBF
