The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday held that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the PDP have failed to prove the onus on the non-qualification of president Muhammadu Buhari to contest the Feb. 23 general election.

Justice Mohammed Garba delivering the lead judgment -Under section 131, 137, 138, of the Nigerian constitution, the petitioner has failed to prove that the president submitted false information (documents) to INEC.
Buhari is not only qualified but is eminently qualified” to contest the 2019 election according to Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
He said Buhari’s certificate from the Nigerian military is higher than School certificate stated as a minimum requirement by the constitution.
The lead judge quotes a previous ruling of the court of appeal which defines ‘school certificate level’ or it’s equivalent as education up to secondary school certificate examination level.
The Tribunal held that evidence before the court shows that Buhari obtained Cambridge West African Examination Council (WAEC).
Garba, the lead judge, said: “The CV contains impressive credentials that enable the second respondent (Buhari) to contest for the presidential election.
