Falz flays Senator Abbo’s ‘Icon of Democracy’ award

Rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly called Falz, has slammed the ‘Icon of Democracy’ award recently bestowed on Senator Elisha Abbo.

Senator Abbo had assaulted a nursing mother at a sex toy shop in Abuja earlier in the year, and he is currently standing trial for the assault.

The Senate had also constituted a panel to examine the issue.

Taking to his verified Instagram handle on Wednesday, Falz shared a video of the senator, where he was receiving the award and asked, “What kind of a joke is this man ?! 😳

“This is the Senator that was caught on tape assaulting a woman in an adult store.

“Icon of democracy award? 🤦🏽‍♂️Shamelessness at the highest level.

“It’s actually disgusting. He should be holding a plaque that says “Biggest disgrace of the year.”

He went on to ask for updates from the Police and the Senate committee on the case and proposed sanctions respectively.

Falz asked, “To the Nigerian Police, I thought this man had been charged to court, what is the status of the case?

“To the National Assembly, What disciplinary action was taken against him?

“We need answers!!! This man cannot remain in the Senate!! #EndImpunity.”
