A popular musician lawyer, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz has reacted to the decision of a court remanding an embattled Kano singer, Sadiq Zazzabi, over his newly-released song.

Sadiq was arraigned on the 1st of March before the censorship court in Kano for allegedly violating the state’s censorship board law which requires that a songs or movies should pass a censorship screening before it is released.

Falz, who feels that the artist is been intimidated unnecessarily is championing the cause to fight the case with him and to see that justice is served.

His statement reads: “I HATE to see stuff like this! This is 2019. Any individual who feels defamed by any statement made by another person can sue for libel or slander under the law of defamation.

“It is shameful to see public officers using the machinery of the state to harass citizens and attempting to hinder our inalienable freedom of expression.

“Anyone who knows the musician Mohammed Yusuf personally should please get in touch with me. We NEED to contend this unjust sentence. Falz.”

The musician is of the belief that he was being targeted because of his support for former Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso. Though the government denied the allegation.
