There was a drama at the premises of high court of Federal Capital Territory ( FCT ) Nyanya on Tuesday in Abuja as Ada Jombo, wife of the slain civil defence officer ( Late Ogar Jombo ) rained curses on the killers of her husband .

Ada became tensed up when the accused were trying to cover and hide their faces from the cameras of the journalists .

The widow who wept profusely when the two accused were being taken away by the prison officials . Ada said ” You will die , you will never know peace ; You children will die , You will not go scot free ; Your wife will die even the one that is pregnant when she is giving birth ;

She was stopped by other family members when she was moving toward the other police officers who were drafted to the court . The situation that led to free for all as family of the accused persons also responded violently.

In the ensuing melee a reporter with TV 360 (Emeka Annabor) was assaulted by a police officer who was in mufti and inflicted injuries on his neck after a failed attempt by the police to hit him with a big stone.

Earlier at the resumed hearing of the case counsel to the family of the deceased , Joshua Musa argued that the prosecution are not ready and cannot secure any conviction going by way and manner the witnesses are being called. He argued that the prosecution ought to have followed due process for them to harmonise and put heads together to determine if the case worth prosecuting or not .

He added that even it is not the duty of the prosecution to secure conviction at all cost the needful must be done and due process must be adhere to. He therefore prayed court for adjournment to enable them put their heads together before the cross examination of the witnesses.

The prosecution counsel, Patrick Ogele in his own submission told the court that they are ready for the case and cross examination of the witnesses who are already in court. He also aligned himself the position point raised by the counsel to the family to enabling them put their act together before the next adjourn date.

The presiding judge Justice Muawiyah Idris said that he has scheduled (Tuesday ) for the matter alone because of the nature of the case. He therefore adjourned the case to September 19th , October 7th and 9th for further hearing of the case. The court also asked the accused to be remanded in Kuje prison.
