The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay, to help President Muhammadu Buhari compile list of his achievements in the fight against corruption.

Rather than recording success, the PDP noted that the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration is going down in history as the most corrupt administration ever. The party, in a statement yesterday by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, described the APC as “a stinking sanctuary of treasury thieves that thrives in manipulation, deception and official concealment.”
It alleged that the sum of over N14 trillion was looted from the nation’s treasury under the watch of President Buhari. The party said Prof. Itse Sagay should help the nation “by advising President Buhari to present his stewardship for investigation for alleged corruption,” accusing the presidential advisory committee chairman of “unnecessary fixation on court rulings on Rivers State.” According to the statement, Buhari must show his integrity by opening up his tenure for investigation, the same way his presidency is demanding of other elected officials in the legislature and state governments across the country.
“It is totally unpardonable that President Buhari, despite his claimed integrity andzerotoleranceforcorruption, not only superintended over an administration that reeks and wallows in ocean of corruption but also refused to allow any investigation into earth shaking corruption under his watch,” the party stated.
PDP gave the president, a 14-day ultimatum to explain to Nigerians the whereabouts of N9 trillion (about $25billion) allegedly stolen in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, through underhand oil contracts as detailed in the leaked NNPC memo.
