Are we serious about eradicating corruption? How much has been done to truly change attitudes? What time and efforts have we made to equip, enable and encourage those who fight to rid our profession and judiciary of corrupt elements? The Judiciary in Lagos took a bold step last year. The CJ of Lagos State put mechanisms in place to discourage corrupt practices within the judiciary BUT WHAT HAS THE BAR IN LAGOS DONE TO COMPLIMENT THESE EFFORTS? THE NBA IS NOT THE ONLY GROUPING OF BAR LEADERS. THERE IS FIDA, AWLA, CLASFON, MULAN, CATHOLIC LAWYERS ETC…. Where are all these other groupings in the fight against corruption in our profession?
