The Chairman of the Makurdi branch of NBA, J.K. Ishember Esq has debunked the report that the immediate past chairman of the branch EZ Agbakor Esq. is controversially adopted as NEC Representative for the period 2018 – 2020. The branch chair, JK Ishember in a chat informed The Nigerian Lawyer (TNL) that there is no controversy rocking the branch as alleged. According to him, “We don’t have any crisis, it’s just a procedural step laid by the constitution that we are following.” “You know some lawyers will want to circumvent it to do one or two funny things. But we insisted that the instant provision of our constitution must be observed stricto sensu. “There is no crisis in Makurdi branch of NBA, everything is in order. “The electoral committee has published the date for the election, and the screened candidates will partake in the election next week, come Thursday, 26th July, 2018. Responding to the allegation, the chairman said the person alleging that there was crisis informed them that he traveled and was not able to attend the meeting. So in this case how could he be here and there at the same time? “All the candidates qualified met the five minimum attendance required of them by the electoral committee which is the only body to speak on the qualification or no qualification. All qualified candidates were cleared,” he added.]]>
