THE Nigerian Army on Wednesday said no fewer than 87 suspected terrorists have surrendered to troops at Forward Operational Base in Bama, Borno State.

The troops were said to have carried out artillery and bombardments at the Sambisa Forest.

The Director of Army Publication Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement, said the surrendered terrorists comprised 19 male fighters, 19 adult females and 49 children.

It read in part, “The terrorists and their families are currently undergoing comprehensive security profiling and preliminary investigations, while the children have been administered with oral polio vaccines.”
