A HEAD of the 2023 general elections, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has introduced two new online platforms to combat the menace of money laundering and other financial crimes.

According to the commission, the platforms will fight against money laundering, terrorism financing and other corrupt practices.

They will also aid easier and faster filing of annual statements of accounts. The platforms were unveiled by the commission in Lagos yesterday during one-day enlightenment and sensitization training. The Registrar General of CAC, Alhaji Garba Abubakar, spoke on the benefits of the new platforms.

The two platforms, namely Beneficial Ownership Register (BOR) and Electronic Filing System (EFS) respectively are expected to foster transparency and curb corruption. The commission promised that the platforms will be available for public use before the end of the year.

The Beneficial Ownership Register (BOR) which will be accessed via the URL “bor.cac.gov.ng” is used to reveal information on Persons with Significant Control (PSC) of entities when searched with entity name, entity number, RC number and full names on the platform.

The Electronic Filing System (EFS) is an online account filing system that enables Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Private Limited Liabilities and other business entities to file annual and financial account statements correctly, fast and easily with the smart-phone or computer system and the internet. Customers and other stakeholders were taken through the correct usage of the online portals at the training.
