The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Olumide Akpata is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constituted Electoral Committee of the Association.

According to information made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL), the inauguration of the appointed committee members is scheduled to hold at NBA House by 3:30 pm on Monday, 24th January 2022.
The Committee which is chaired by Ayo Akintunde SAN also include; Mabel Ekeke, Secretary; human rights activist, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu; former NBA Treasurer, Aisha Ado-Abdulahi and leading ICT expert, Mr. Basil Udotai.
The Electoral Committee of the NBA (ECNBA) which is charged with the responsibility of conducting biennial elections into the Association’s leadership is vested with the mandate of conducting the NBA National Executives election slated to hold later this year.
Recall that TheNigeriaLawyer previously reported that Akpata had at the last NBA National Executive Committee (NBA-NEC) quarterly meeting in Abeokuta announced the appointment of members of the Electoral Committee to conduct the 2022 National Officers election.
Source informed TheNigeriaLawyers, (TNL), that Olumide Akpata is working hard to ensure this year’s election is the most transparent, free, fair and credible in the Association’s history devoid of rancour and the manner of integrity questions associated with previous elections.
