The Labour Party has fixed ₦50 million as the cost of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants seeking its presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This was contained in the party’s schedule of activities and timetable for the 2027 general elections, released by its National Secretariat in Abuja and signed by the National Organising Secretary, Mrs. Oluchi Oparah.

According to the timetable, the sale of forms will run from Wednesday, May 6, to Saturday, May 16, 2026, while submission of completed forms will take place between Sunday, May 17, and Monday, May 18, 2026.

The party fixed screening of aspirants for State House of Assembly and governorship positions for May 20, 2026, while screening for National Assembly and presidential aspirants will hold on May 22, 2026.

Publication of screening results for all categories, including State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and presidential aspirants, has been scheduled for May 23, 2026.

Appeals and petitions arising from screening for State House of Assembly and governorship aspirants will be heard on May 24, while those for National Assembly and presidential aspirants will be heard on May 25.

The final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 26, 2026.

For the primary elections, the Labour Party fixed May 27, 2026, for State House of Assembly and governorship primaries, while National Assembly and presidential primaries will hold on May 29, 2026.

Under the approved fees, House of Assembly aspirants are to pay ₦1 million for expression of interest and ₦2 million for nomination forms, making a total of ₦3 million.

House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦1.5 million for expression of interest and ₦3.5 million for nomination forms, bringing the total to ₦5 million.

Senate aspirants are to pay ₦2.5 million for expression of interest and ₦7.5 million for nomination forms, amounting to ₦10 million.

Governorship aspirants will pay ₦5 million for expression of interest and ₦20 million for nomination forms, making a total of ₦25 million.

For the presidential ticket, aspirants are to pay ₦10 million for expression of interest and ₦40 million for nomination forms, bringing the total to ₦50 million.

The party said it has approved concessions in line with its motto of equal opportunity and social justice. Female aspirants, persons living with disabilities and youths between the ages of 25 and 30 are required to pay only for expression of interest forms in all categories.

Payments are to be made directly into the Labour Party’s designated First Bank account.

The timetable signals the party’s early preparations for the 2027 general elections and sets the financial and procedural framework for aspirants seeking elective positions on its platform.
