A source close to Lugard house, Lokoja,who confided to our reporter explained that, Governor Yahaya Bello before he assumed office as Governor assured our source that his dream is to acquire Property at the highbrow area of Abuja;” when the first Bill out was released few months after his inauguration, Yahaya Bello used his agent to acquired the property at Justice Chukwudi Oputa street,off TY Danjuma Street Asokoro Abuja,at whopping sum of N1.2Billion” our source who doesn’t want his name in print explained. It could be recalled that Alhaji Yahaya Bello wasted over N1.5 Billion on staff verification exercise,which sent many innocent civil servants and pensioners to their grave,as many of them died on their way to Lokoja for an failed exercise, while N270 million was used just to write the report of the exercise. This is what Alhaji Ibrahim a retired Permanent Secretary,who according to him since he was retired by Bello, said :”in other to divert the attention of the people of Kogi State,Governor Yayaha Bello After assuming office on January 27, 2016, suspended all the permanent secretaries, Director of finance and treasures in the 21 Local Government and inaugurated a staff verification and auditing committee on February 22, 2016, which he said was aimed at curtailing leakages, sanitizing the state’s civil service and weed ghost workers from the government’s pay rolls but since then, the Governor failed to pay salaries of workers and pensioners because he has diverted the money which included the Bill out fund meant to pay both Local Government workers and pensioners, instead used our hard earned sweat to acquired properties at the expense of our teaming pensioners/ workers; He appealed to the EFCC, to come to aid of the people of Kogites by beaming it light on Governor Yahaya Bello and his political appointees who he said;”if the Governor is covered by Immunity, what about other appointees,why not checkmate the activities and financial prolificacy of Mr Edward Onoja Chief of Staff to Yahaya Bello,Commissioner of Finance and host of others “he submitted.
