About Miyetti Quarterly Law Review Miyetti Quarterly Law Review is published by Miyetti Research and Publications Limited as a peer reviewed law journal with the aim of advancing cutting edge substantive and adjectival practice and procedural insights into contemporary topical legal issues arising from the Nigerian and comparative Law from other jurisdictions thereby expanding the frontiers of legal knowledge. GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

  1. The Miyetti Quarterly Law Review (MQLR) published by Miyetti Research and Publications, is a legal journal that publishes articles on all facets of Nigerian and International Law. The core areas of the Journal include topical legal, regulatory and policy issues in the manufacturing sector, commerce, power, extractive industry, sports and entertainment, tourism and hospitality, humanitarian, reproductive health, infrastructure concessioneering, access to justice, criminal justice administration, election petition to mention a few.
  1. The articles submitted must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the legal issues discussed from the perspective of relevant extant legal and judicial authorities on the field, while also capturing the comparative aspects where necessary. An in-depth analysis of current trends and recent developments in the subject matter should be provided in the article.
  1. Articles submitted should maintain the range of 6000-7000 words without footnotes and up to 9000 words including footnotes. However, longer articles containing more than 7000 words may be considered for publication. Furthermore, articles should be submitted in Garamond format with a font size of 12 and accurately double-spaced.
  1. Any article submitted should be an original work of the author. The Editorial Board will not consider any article already published either in full or in part or scheduled to be published elsewhere. The authors will be required to provide a letter that their work is indeed original and would not be published anywhere else.
  1. Copyright in the article will be assigned to Miyetti Research and Publications.
  1. The article should clearly indicate the title and the author together with a brief personal description that the author would want to see in the publication; this should be between the ranges of 60-70 words.
  1. Articles must contain an abstract of about 150-200 words describing the content of the articles.
  1. Every article must be referenced in order to ensure relevance and accuracy. The reference style adopted by The Miyetti Quarterly Law Review is the OSCOLA (Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities) referencing system. Please visit http://www.law.ox.ac.uk/published/OSCOLA_4th_edn.pdf for guidelines on proper referencing.
  1. All footnotes should be automatically numbered using the Arabic numerals. There should be no blank spaces separating the footnotes. It should reflect the name of the author, title, place of publication, publisher’s name, and year of publication, pages referred to and any other relevant information. The footnotes should be checked for accuracy, consistency and completeness.
  1. All submissions must be in English. In cases where articles submitted are in a foreign language, the Editorial Board may consider it for translation. Such articles should be accompanied by a synopsis upon submission in English.
  1. Authors should submit their manuscript through electronic mail (e- mail) to editor@miyettiquarterlylawreview.com, formatted for print on A4 paper. Manuscripts should not be more than twenty-five (25) pages in case of articles and in case of case reviews, fifteen (15) pages. No exclusive submission policy is in place; hence, submission may also be made through mail. Where submission is by mail, it should be sent to: Miyetti Research and Publications, 1 Nwaora Close, off Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja FCT, Nigeria.
  1. All articles submitted should carry the name(s) of the author(s), contact address, telephone numbers and email address. Authors should also attach a recently updated copy of their CV’s to provide qualifications and academic and professional affiliations.
  1. Where the work submitted contains materials, which is someone else’s copyright, the unrestricted permission of the copyright owner to use the material must be obtained and evidence of such forwarded along with the article. Also, the material should be identified and acknowledged with the work. Submitted works should not, to the best of the author’s knowledge, contain anything that is libelous, illegal, or infringes on anyone’s copyright or other rights.
