The Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Olugbemisola Titilayomi Odusote, has charged newly admitted students of the 2025/2026 academic session to uphold discipline, professionalism, and academic excellence throughout their stay at the institution.

Dr. Odusote gave the charge on Thursday, April 17, 2026, while delivering a formal welcome address to students at the Law School Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja.

She emphasised strict compliance with the institution’s Code of Conduct, warning that the school maintains zero tolerance for examination malpractice, indiscipline, and any form of misconduct.

The Director-General also unveiled the institution’s guiding vision, the #ARISE Framework, which stands for Academic Excellence, Research and Renewed Service, Infrastructural Rebirth, Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement, and Enabled Digitisation.

She encouraged students to actively participate in lectures and group activities, utilise their lecturers as mentors, and maintain proper conduct and appropriate dressing at all times.

Welcoming the students, Dr. Odusote described their admission into the Nigerian Law School as a significant milestone, assuring them that the institution remains committed to fostering excellence in legal education.

In a related development, the Council of Legal Education hosted a send-forth dinner in honour of distinguished former leaders of the Nigerian Law School.

The event, held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Ballroom of Fraser Suites, Abuja, celebrated the contributions of Olanrewaju Adesola Onadeko (8th Director-General, 2013–2018), Isa Hayatu Chiroma (9th Director-General, 2018–2026), and Elizabeth O. Max-Uba.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Council, Emeka Ngige, commended the honourees for their visionary leadership and invaluable contributions to legal education in Nigeria.

The Director-General, Dr. Odusote, also expressed appreciation for their enduring legacies, noting that their impact continues to shape the institution.

Delivering remarks as Special Guest of Honour, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, paid glowing tribute to the honourees, describing them as exemplary leaders who significantly advanced legal education and national development.

Goodwill messages were delivered by several dignitaries, including Ishaq Bello and representatives of the Body of Benchers, who praised the honourees for their integrity and service.

The ceremony also coincided with the birthdays of Professors Onadeko and Chiroma, marking their 73rd and 63rd birthdays respectively.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of awards in recognition of their outstanding service to the Council of Legal Education and the Nigerian Law School.

The honourees, in their responses, expressed gratitude for the recognition and appreciation to guests for their support.
