The Chief Judge of Rivers State is set to host the official Welcome Cocktail for the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Nigerian Bar Association announced the event in an invitation issued to delegates, distinguished members of the Bar, guests and friends of the legal profession attending the conference.

The Welcome Cocktail will hold on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. WAT, at the Ceremonial Court Hall, Block “C”, High Court Complex, Port Harcourt.

The event forms part of activities for the 2026 NBA Annual General Conference, holding in Port Harcourt from August 21 to 28 under the theme, “Beyond Limits.”

According to the NBA, the cocktail is designed to provide an informal and hospitable atmosphere for participants to reconnect with old friends, meet colleagues from different parts of Nigeria and beyond, and establish new professional and personal relationships.

“The Welcome Cocktail will provide an opportunity for members to come together in an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality, reconnect with old friends, meet colleagues from across Nigeria and beyond, and establish new professional and personal connections,” the Association stated.

The NBA encouraged all registered conferees and invited guests to attend the evening event and experience the hospitality of Rivers State as members of the legal profession converge on the Garden City for the annual gathering.

“The NBA encourages all conferees and invited guests to be part of this special evening and experience the warmth and hospitality of Rivers State as we gather for another memorable Annual General Conference,” it added.

The Welcome Cocktail comes as lawyers, judges, senior advocates, public officials, academics, business leaders and other stakeholders gather in Port Harcourt for the eight-day conference.

The NBA AGC programme includes religious services, a health walk, tree planting and community clean-up, the Pre-Conference National Executive Council meeting, opening ceremony, plenary and breakout sessions, showcases, sporting and social activities, section meetings, the Association’s Annual General Meeting, press conference and swearing-in ceremony.

The invitation was issued by the NBA National Publicity Secretary, Bridget Edokwe, Esq.
