Ex-education Minister and presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria in the 2019 general election, Oby Ezekwesili, has encouraged Seun Onigbinde to prove his mettle in his new role as the Technical Adviser to the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba.

Onigbinde is a co-founder of BudgIT Nigeria, a social enterprise dedicated to calling for accountability and transparency in governance.
Onigbinde’s acceptance of government appointment had met with mixed reactions among his Nigerian social media followers.
Some commended him for taking the job, while others saw it as a betrayal of his stance towards the government.
However, taking to her verified Twitter handle @obyezeks on Saturday evening, the former vice president of World Bank had tweeted:
@seunonigbinde your passionate love for Nigeria got you into one of the toughest decisions yet of your life.
If some really knew you, they would never imagine not to talk of write some of what I have read.
But it’s okay.
