I am elated when I noticed that a special session was put together to discuss the salient issues of mentorship and capacity building for our Young Lawyers in the Unity Bar. To my mind, State of Emergency must be declared in this regards so that the myriad of problems confronting our Young colleagues will be holistically tackled and lasting solutions can be found to address the recurring issues of Welfare of Young Lawyers. It is on this note that I give kudos to the Leadership and the Organising Committee of the ABUJA BRANCH ( Unity Bar) for deeming it fit to organise a SPECIAL SESSION FOR YOUNG LAWYERS ON MENTORSHIP AND CAPACITY BUILDING as part of the activities marking the Unity Bar Law Week . That is very thoughtful of the organisers. I had planned to be part of the very important session, but I am afraid I will not be able to join you because we are mourning the demise of Hon. Justice Mustapha Akanbi CFR PCA (RTD) in Kwara State who passed to the great beyond on Sunday. I regret my inability to attend. I share in your challenges and difficult times majority of young lawyers out there are going through. The NBA ought to ensure the establishment of schemes to alleviate the suffering of OUR YOUNG COLLEAGUES who are at their teething age in this profession.
