Young Lawyers of not more than five years post-call are being invited to submit entries for the Olumuyiwa Olatokunbo Olowokure essay competition on the topic: “Repositioning Nigerian Legal Education for a Globally Competitive Legal Market in the 21st Century”

The e-flyer for the competition made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) shows that winner shall be awarded N150, 000. The essay must be in English and must not exceed 1, 500 words and the word count shall exclude references. Essays shorter than 1, 000 (excluding footnotes) are also discouraged.

The advert also provides that referencing style must be The Oxford Standard for Citing Legal Authorities (OSCOLA).

“Essays submitted must be original, unpublished works. co-authored essays will not be considered” and “the decision of the winning essay by the judging panel is final, and no correspondence shall be entered into regarding the details of the decision.”

Regarding the format of the competition, “Font size 12, Font Type Calibiri, Spacing 1.5, Text alignment: Justified” font size of footnotes is 10, and font style is New Times Roman.

It added that plagiarism shall result in disqualification and no late entry shall be accepted. Two copies each of Ms word and PDF format is to be submitted to oluwatobi@olowokure.com
