The Nigerian Law School has received significant commitments from prominent business leaders and politicians to improve its infrastructure across various campuses.

Femi Otedola, billionaire businessman and chairman of Geregu Power, has pledged to construct staff quarters at the Lagos campus of the Nigerian Law School.

The announcement was made by Isa Chiroma, director-general (DG) of the Nigerian Law School, during his address to the body of benchers at the call-to-bar ceremony held in Abuja on Tuesday.

Chiroma also revealed that Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, has agreed to build a student hostel at the Kano campus, while Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has committed to constructing staff quarters and providing official vehicles to the Abuja campus.

“Chief Femi Otedola has agreed to build staff quarters in Lagos Campus of the Nigerian law school,” Chiroma said. “Alhaji Aliko Dangote has agreed to build student’s hostel in Kano Campus of the Nigerian law school. The honourable minister of the capital territory, Abuja Barrister Nyeson Wike, CON has agreed to build staff quarters in Abuja Campus of the Nigerian Law School as well as provision of official vehicles to the Nigerian law school.”

The director-general emphasized the importance of these interventions, stating that they come at a critical time when the Nigerian Law School is experiencing an astronomical increase in the number of applicants. “These interventions are coming at a critical phase of our development period where there is an astronomical increase in the number of applicants into the Nigerian law school,” Chiroma noted.

Expressing gratitude to the benefactors, Chiroma said, “Words are not enough to thank you for your intervention in the Nigerian law school. We urge others to follow in your footsteps.”
