Portable, the Nigerian singer, has alleged that he was sprayed fake N1000 notes in a club in Port Harcourt.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, the singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, also claimed that the person who sprayed him with the bundles of fake naira notes was from Nigerien.

“Port Harcourt has caused trouble, you have sprayed me fake money, all the money is fake, Niger man spraying fake money, PH is this how to show love? You have fucked up,” he said in the now-viral footage showing the tons of naira notes on a bed.

The singer and his associates were also seen tearing the N1000 notes.

Last month, Godwin Emefiele, governor of the CBN, announced a plan to redesign the currency to control the money supply and aid security agencies in tackling illicit financial flow.

The notes to be redesigned include N200, N500, and N1000.

Since he rose to prominence in late 2021 with the release of ‘Zazoo Zeh’, Portable has always been in the news for controversial reasons.

In May, the singer was nominated for the ‘Best Street Artist’ and ‘Rookie of the Year’ categories at the recently concluded 15th Headies.

But he was disqualified by the award organisers after he threatened to kill anyone who wins the categories and claimed that he founded ‘One million Boys’, the suspected cult group in Lagos.

Portable also taunted the award organisers and Goya Menor for winning the ‘Best Street Hip Hop’ category.
