The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has disclaimed a list of aspirants for national offices of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) currently circulating across various platforms, describing it as unauthorised and misleading.

In a statement issued on Monday, the committee said the list did not emanate from it and should be disregarded by members of the legal community and the general public.
“The ECNBA wishes to state categorically that this publication did not emanate from the Committee,” the statement read.
The committee warned that the document in circulation is a calculated attempt to spread misinformation and create confusion regarding the ongoing NBA electoral process.
It emphasised that the official list of aspirants will be released in due course through its verified communication channels.
“All information regarding the electoral process will be communicated exclusively through the official ECNBA website,” the committee added.
The statement was signed by the Chairman of the ECNBA (2026), Aham Ejelam, SAN, and the Secretary, Aliyu Nassarawa.
The committee urged stakeholders to rely only on official sources for accurate updates as preparations for the NBA national elections continue.
