The British High Commission in Nigeria has closed its visa application centres in the country due to the ongoing EndSARS protests.

In a statement issued on its website, the commission said that the decision was taken for the safety of both staff and applicants.

It also said that the centres will be closed for 48 hours at a minimum.

Advising applicants with booked appointments within the period, the commission said that they will need to reschedule their appointment for next week, from 26th October 2020.

The statement further said:

“We will continue to post regular updates on this page, so please keep checking back for the latest information on reopening.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
