President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu as the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex, SHESTCO, Abuja, alongside the appointment of a new Managing Director and board members for the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, NEMSA.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, SHESTCO, a federal research institution, is responsible for conducting research and development in science and technology and also operates Nigeria’s nuclear research facility.

In a related development, the President appointed Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA, the agency charged with ensuring technical standards and safety in Nigeria’s electricity supply industry.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of other members of NEMSA’s board. They include Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director (Technical); Ikechi Clara Nwosu as Chairman, representing the South-East; Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris as member; Igba Elizabeth, representing the North-Central; Sani Alhaji Shehu, representing the North-East; Adeyemi Adetunji, representing the South-West; Engr. Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe, representing the South-South; and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa, representing the South-East.

The appointments reflect regional representation in line with federal character principles.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has also nominated Amina Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Muktar, representing Kaduna State, as commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The two nominees have been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation, in accordance with constitutional requirements.

The latest appointments come amid ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to strengthen key regulatory and research institutions critical to power sector reforms, fiscal management, and scientific development.
