The Ondo State Government has donated a brand-new bus to the Akure Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The gesture is aimed at easing logistical challenges faced by the branch and enhancing its ability to discharge professional duties effectively.

The bus was presented on Friday by the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, on behalf of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Speaking at the brief ceremony held at the Ministry of Justice premises in Akure, Dr. Ajulo described the donation as a deliberate step to strengthen the partnership between the executive arm and the Bar.

He said:
“A virile, independent, and well-equipped Bar is indispensable to the administration of justice and the sustenance of the rule of law. This bus is a modest contribution toward supporting the Akure Branch in its welfare programs, continuing legal education, public interest advocacy, and other statutory responsibilities.”

Dr. Ajulo further assured lawyers in the state of the present administration’s readiness to maintain an open-door policy and collaborate on initiatives that promote access to justice and legal development.

Receiving the bus on behalf of the branch, the Chairman of NBA Akure, Mr. Rotimi Olorunfemi, thanked the state government for the “timely and thoughtful intervention.”

He noted that the vehicle would significantly improve members’ participation in branch activities, court engagements, and community outreach programs.

Members of the branch present at the event expressed delight, describing the donation as a clear demonstration of mutual respect and synergy between the Bar and the bench in Ondo State.

The event was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Justice, branch executives, and members of NBA Akure.
