Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has declared that there is no Rainbow Coalition in Imo State, warning that a campaign vehicle presented through the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement must not be used to campaign for any political party other than the All Progressives Congress.

Uzodimma made the remarks during the inauguration of the Imo State structure of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots mobilisation platform supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

“There is no Rainbow Coalition in Imo State,” the governor declared.

Speaking on the campaign vehicle presented by the movement, Uzodimma acknowledged receiving the vehicle but made it clear that its use must remain consistent with the political purpose for which it was provided.

“I collected the car from you,” he said.

The governor went further to warn that if the vehicle was subsequently used to campaign for another political party, he would take it back.

His remarks appeared aimed at drawing a clear distinction between support for President Tinubu’s re-election and participation in political arrangements that could promote candidates of rival parties in Imo State.

Uzodimma’s position was that while groups mobilising for President Tinubu were welcome to operate in the state, such mobilisation should not be used as a platform to work against the APC or its candidates.

The governor was particularly emphatic that the Rainbow Coalition, which has been promoted as a cross-party platform for politicians supporting Tinubu’s re-election, had no place in Imo State.

“There is no Rainbow Coalition in Imo State,” he repeated.

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement is convened by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and is mobilising grassroots support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. The movement has also been distributing campaign vehicles to coordinators as part of its mobilisation activities.

Uzodimma’s message at the event was therefore that accepting a campaign vehicle from the pro-Tinubu movement did not amount to accepting a separate political coalition in Imo, and that any vehicle provided for the mobilisation effort must not be deployed to promote another political party.

He warned that where that happened, the vehicle would be retrieved.
