I will begin this discussion with reference to a scriptural verse:

Proverbs 29:2 (KJV):

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn”.

The “New King James Version” of the same scriptural verse also states as follows

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”

The above typically reflects the happenings in our nation, called Nigeria.

Rather than the people rejoice and live happily by reason of the vast resources that God has endowed us with, it’s been groaning upon groaning that we experience on a daily basis.

The national dailies are awashed every day of deaths upon deaths; Banditry and kidnappings everyday; our hospitals poorly equipped despite our highly trained and qualified medical personnel who now floods other nations of the world who needed their services.

Majority of our leaders are clueless on what’s needed to make this nation great again; they are clueless on how to turn our abundant human, natural and vast land resources into wealth and when well meaning individuals, with great ideas want to rise and lift this nation to the limelight unfortunately many of our leaders through their governmental policies and perhaps with their PULL HIM DOWN (PHD) syndromes use their powers to pull such individuals and or companies down and destroy their visions.

Rather than turn our land to an industrial/agricultural hub, same has become a den of countless deaths and hideout for criminals who kidnap innocent Nigerians for ransom; rather than make education a top priority for all our children, what we now have is the closure of a majority of our schools for fear of kidnapping: students and teachers having become the new targets by these heartless and wicked terrorists and or bandits, as they now chose to be referred to.

When will our leaders ever learn to always put smiles on its citizens as a whole? When will our leaders ever learn to replicate the enviable developments that they see abounds in other nations that they go on useless tourism and or vacations that they embark upon day in day out back to our motherland rather than merely copying their revenue laws and repressive laws that tends to gag the human rights of the people which they now replicate verbatim in our legal jurisprudence so as to corrupt their already bloated accounts while the populace languish more in abject poverty?

When will our leaders rise up to its bidding and make Nigeria the technological, industrial, medical et etal hub of Africa? No more can we be described as the giant of Africa that we once pride ourselves to be.

We hear of building collapse now and then and never have we heard that the owners and the engineers responsible for the construction of such buildings brought to book!!!

Hard earned Pensions belonging to our pensioners looted with reckless abandonment by evil and devilish civil servants and some wicked and heartless godfathers in offices thereby leading to the deaths of many of these noble citizens that served this country with all their lives and might. What a way to reward those that sacrificed all they had for this nation that has now turned its back against them?

Yet these looters and killers of our patriots go about flaunting their ill gotten wealth all over the society; they giving testimonies in various hallowed alters, and thereby desecrating same in the process, of how God blessed them with wealth that is already cursed and which may also affect their present and unborn generations that would come after!!!

Why has lives become so meaningless to our so called leaders who would loot funds meant to fix our roads and as a result avoidable deaths becomes the ding dong songs on our roads nationwide on a daily basis?

We hear of humans being butchered like animals and their body parts sold to these so called politicians and those who want to become rich overnight. Does It mean many Nigerians have lost their conscience and their souls to the devil or what?

Who should be held responsible for the woes of many? Many of us professionals cannot be ruled out!!!

The negligence of a medical personnel in the course of his work may lead to the death of his patient/patients thereby causing untold hardships for several families. Today medical
Personnel who took the oath to save lives reject patients at will dues to one reason of unless huge sums are deposited they cannot commence treatment; accident victims denied treatments with one flimsy excuses or the other; innocent people who suffered gun shot wounds from date devil armed robbers and or kidnappers denied right to live on the flimsy excuse of no police report. Is this how doctors and nurses practice their vocation in other climes? Why is Nigeria’s case always an exception?

The negligent and wicked attitude of some landlords and some of their criminal minded engineers supervising such project may lead to the collapse of bridges, houses et al, thereby leading to the maiming and or eventual loss of lives whose colossal effects can well be imagined than described.

Corruption in the judicial sector also perpetrated by some law enforcement officers, legal practitioners and even judicial officers have sent many to their untimely graves.

Worst of it all is the clueless, criminal and corrupt minded nature of our so called political leaders that we elected into political offices and who because of their poverty mentality not only loot our treasury dry but also bring out destructive and dangerous policies that leads to the closure of our industries, loss of jobs, destruction of our transportation system as well as the death of our academic system despite the best brains that God has endowed this nation with

If our Political leaders cannot lead by example and at the same time show us the way on how well a nation can be well led, then let’s go back to our homes and begin leadership 101 classes amongst our family members and evolve ways how we can begin to lead ourselves from our homes. Perhaps when we all begin to lead ourselves from our home front then we can boldly say that the beautiful ones are now born!!!

Let us all collectively say:

No to bad leadership!

Yes to right leadership!
