The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, has again arraigned social media influencer and self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, before the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, over a fresh alleged ₦13 million fraud.

Blessing CEO was arraigned on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, before Justice Yelim Bogoro on a fresh six-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and retaining proceeds allegedly linked to fraudulent activities.

According to the EFCC, the charges followed petitions received from individuals and groups, including the Nigeria Cancer Society.

The anti-graft agency alleged that members of the public made donations to the defendant after she published social media posts claiming that she was battling Stage 4 breast cancer and needed financial assistance for treatment.

The commission further alleged that investigations later revealed that the medical document presented by Blessing CEO to support the claim was falsified.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following her arraignment, the court ordered her remand at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the perfection of her bail conditions.

Shortly after the court proceedings, Blessing CEO confirmed her remand in a post on her Facebook page, saying she had spent 26 days in EFCC custody before her arraignment.

“I have now been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Center pending when I perfect my bail,” she wrote.

She, however, said she remained in high spirits despite the development and thanked her supporters for standing by her.

The influencer also claimed that some of the allegations against her were connected to tenancy-related disputes involving sums of ₦36 million and ₦69 million.

She maintained that she did not sell any house through her office.

Blessing CEO also referenced the case involving donations allegedly made after claims that she was battling cancer, but said she would provide more details after the legal proceedings had been concluded.

She noted that this was the second time she would be remanded at the correctional facility, recalling that she had previously been detained in 2022 over allegations relating to defamation and cyberbullying.

Despite her legal troubles, she expressed optimism that the situation would eventually work in her favour and urged her supporters to keep her in their prayers.

The EFCC said the latest arraignment forms part of its investigation into petitions alleging that the defendant obtained money from members of the public under false pretence.

The matter was adjourned for further proceedings.
