The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), in collaboration with the UN/NGO/CSW68 Parallel Event 16011, is inviting legal professionals and stakeholders to a webinar on “Strengthening the Justice Sector in Africa: Ensuring Access to Justice via Mediation.”

Scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, 2024, at 3:30 PM WAT (10:30 AM EST), the virtual event will bring together esteemed experts and experienced practitioners to discuss the crucial role of mediation in enhancing access to justice across the African continent.

The webinar will be hosted by Godwin Omoaka, SAN, FCIArb, FICMC, the President of ICMC, and will feature a keynote address by Mary Walker, OAM, Member of the IBA Committee Advisory Board, and Co-Chair of the International ADR Committee.

The distinguished panel of speakers includes Professor Joy Ngozi Ezeilo, SAN, OON, Shaun Henriques, Co-Chair of the Mediation Committee at the International Bar Association (IBA), and Agada Elachi, SAN, Ph.D., FCIArb (UK), FICMC, Past President of ICMC.

The event will be moderated by Dr. Rosemary Chikwendu, FICMC, Founding Partner of Chikwendu & Chikwendu & Co, and Dr. Adeyemi Agbelusi, FICMC, FCIArb, Principal Partner at Berean Associate.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the experts on the significance of mediation as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism, its role in enhancing access to justice, and its potential to strengthen the justice sector in Africa.
