President Bola Tinubu returned in the early hours of Wednesday after a two-week official and private visits out of the country.

Tinubu, who departed Abuja on April 23, enroute the Netherlands, on an invitation by the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, for economic and diplomatic meetings, arrived the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 1:45am.

Confirming the return of the President on his verified X handle on Wednesday morning, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, simply wrote “Welcome Home Mr President!”.

While in the Netherlands, Tinubu held high-level talks with Prime Minister Rutte on a range of issues of mutual interests to Nigeria and the Netherlands, after which he held separate meetings with His Royal Majesty, King Willem-Alexander, and Queen Maxima of the Kingdom.

In a statement during his stay in the Netherlands by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu also participated in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum, which brought together heads of conglomerates and organisations in both countries.

After his engagements in the Netherlands, President Tinubu proceeded to Saudi Arabia where he attended a Special World Economic Forum meeting in Riyadh, from April 28 to 29.

The forum with the theme: “Global collaboration, growth and energy for development,” was attended by leaders from various sectors to discuss global development strategies.

At the end of the summit however the President did not return to the country immediately, as he was said to have embarked on a private visit.

Although no official statement was issued on the President’s further engagements, sources within the Presidency confirmed that he proceeded to London for a private visit.
