The Council of Legal Education, Nigerian Law School, has announced that the application portal for admission into the Bar Part II Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session will open on Monday, September 7, 2026.

In a notice signed by the Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, Aderonke O. Osho, the Nigerian Law School said the 2026/2027 academic session will commence simultaneously on Monday, February 22, 2027, at the Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, and campuses in Lagos, Enugu, Kano, Yenagoa, Yola and Port Harcourt.

According to the notice, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates, including Nigerian law graduates from Nigerian universities, Nigerian law graduates from non-common law jurisdictions who have successfully completed a remedial programme at a Nigerian university, and foreign-trained law graduates who have successfully completed and passed the Bar Part I Course at the Nigerian Law School.

The Law School directed intending applicants to visit its website, www.nigerianlawschool.edu.ng, for instructions on the application procedure.

It, however, stated that only applicants whose data have been forwarded to the Nigerian Law School by the Registrar of their university not later than Friday, September 4, 2026, will be eligible to apply.

The notice further advised applicants to confirm with their universities before proceeding to pay the non-refundable application fee of ₦40,000.

According to the Law School, downloaded application forms, together with references on applicants, must be completed and returned to the Nigerian Law School through the applicants’ Dean of Law on or before Thursday, December 31, 2026.

For re-admission applicants, the notice said approved re-admission and cleared referred admission cases are to check for their names under re-admission on the portal before applying.

Such applicants are required to attach a copy of the approval for re-admission or clearance letter to their application forms and forward same to the Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration at the Nigerian Law School Headquarters on or before Thursday, December 31, 2026.

The Nigerian Law School warned that late submission of application forms will not be entertained.

It also advised applicants to note and retain their application numbers, saying the numbers will be required for all future correspondence and enquiries relating to their applications.
