PENALTY FOR FAILING TO YIELD RIGHT OF WAY TO FIRE ENGINES
In Nigeria, it is an offence for road users not to yield Right of Way to a Fire Fighting engine.
It is believed that failure to yield can cause serious accidents or delays in fire engines arriving at the scene of an emergency.
Hence, road users must always steer clear of Fire Fighting Equipment.
Imprisonment for one (1) month or fine not exceeding twenty naira or to both such fine and imprisonment.
See Section 33 of the Fire Service Act.
