Hon. Musa Agah of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the Jos North/Bassa Federal constituency by-election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.

The returning officer Dr Oyeyinka Oyerinda announced Agah scored 40, 343 to beat the PRP candidate Hon. Muhammad Gwani who scored 37, 757 votes.

Hon. Abbey Aku of the ruling All Progresives Congress (APC) polled 26,111 votes.

Senator Istifanus Gyang of Plateau North congratulated Agah for the victory.

The Senator, in a statement by his media aide, Muas Ashoms, said the defeat of the APC is a verdict on the inglorious election phobia of Governor Simon Lalong which saw PLASIEC deny the PDP participation in what ought to have been a keenly contested local government elections in the State.

He said the victory signals good things to come.
