It was said that Belgore, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain, who vied for the party’s governorship ticket in the last election in Kwara State but lost was arrested over allegation that he benefited handsomely from N23billion former minister of petroleum resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke shared out during the 2015 general elections. The allegation made against him, according to source, was that he got N400m from the alleged proceeds of fraud. Informed sources told Thenigerialawyer that Belgore has been in detention at EFCC’s Lagos office at 15A, Awolowo Road in Ikoyi since last Thursday till the time of writing this report. Our correspondent called Belgore on his two mobile lines, an MTN and Airtel to confirm his reported arrest from him but his phone(s) was switched off.
