SeniorAdvocate of Nigeria, Paul Usoro SAN has expressed his heartfelt condolence with the wife and family of late Honourable Justice Muhammad Mustapha Adebayo Akanbi (Rtd), members of the Nigerian Judiciary, the good people and Government of Kwara State and Nigeria in general, on the sad demise of late Honourable Justice Mustapha Akanbi (Rtd). This was revealed in a statement he made at the late hours of Monday, 4th July, 2018. According to Mr. Usoro, Justice Akanbi was a brilliant Jurist, sage and an upright man, known to all as an “incorrigible judge”. In his words he said: ”I align totally with the general opinion of many that Justice Akanbi’s greatest asset in life was his enviable integrity, humility and incorruptibility, whether as a Judge in both High Court and Court of Appeal, which he presided, or as the pioneer Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. ”His death is certainly a colossal loss not only to his immediate family and the judiciary but also to the entire Nation. We would surely miss you Baba Akanbi. ”It is my fervent prayer that Allah make him an inmate of Al Jannah firdaous (paradise) and rest his soul well. May He grant his family and relations, the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss,” he added. Until his death, Mr. Akanbi was the first Wakili of Ilorin. He was President of the Court of Appeal, from 1992 to 1999. He was also appointed as Chairman of ICPC former president Olusegun Obasanjo in 2000 where he served until 2005.]]>
