*Says Introduced To Decongest Call To Bar Ceremonies

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has launched a new online enrollment system for Nigerian Law School graduates who successfully pass the Bar exams. This initiative aims to streamline the process of obtaining enrollment numbers and certificates, which are essential for officially practicing as lawyers in Nigeria.

According to the official notice, all candidates who successfully complete the Nigerian Law School program and qualify as barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria are now required to register on the dedicated portal, https://lawyerenrollment.com.ng/, before their official Call to Bar ceremony. This will enable them to receive their enrollment numbers swiftly after the ceremony.

The online enrollment and verification system allows new wigs to submit their details in advance, eliminating the need for manual registration and verification on the day of the Call to Bar celebration. Upon completion of the Call to Bar event, graduates can then promptly visit the Supreme Court complex, located in the Central District of Abuja within the Three Arms Zone, to collect their official enrollment numbers and Supreme Court enrollment certificates.

By implementing this system, the Supreme Court aims to reduce crowds and delays for the new lawyers, making the post-ceremony process more efficient and convenient. The Law School has emphasized that enrollment on the portal is mandatory for graduates to be issued their Supreme Court enrollment numbers, without which they cannot officially practice law in Nigeria.

Candidates scheduled for this year’s Call to Bar are strongly advised to register on the portal as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and efficient post-ceremony process. The online platform will capture all necessary details, enabling the Supreme Court to have each lawyer’s verified information on record, facilitating seamless enrollment number assignment.

The introduction of this online enrollment system marks a significant step towards modernizing the administrative processes associated with the legal profession in Nigeria. It is expected to save time and resources for both the graduates and the Supreme Court staff, while also ensuring a more accurate and secure record-keeping system.
