Obiano, APC candidate, Nwoye, disagree over November gov poll

Nwoye described the tenure of the incumbent governor as an unmitigated disaster. The 43-year-old medical doctor, who defeated Senator Andy Uba, Chief George Moghalu and others in the APC’s primary election to pick the ticket of the party, said Obiano had impoverished the people of the state. Nwoye, who spoke to journalists shortly after a meeting with the APC executive members in the state, believed that Obiano had betrayed the confidence reposed in him by the people of the state who voted for him in the 2013 election. He stated that it was painful that most families in the state could hardly afford a meal daily. But Obiano said Nwoye did not possess the competence to be a local government chairman let alone ruling a state as Anambra. Speaking through his media aide, Oliver Okpala, Obiano described himself as a tested and trusted technocrat who reached the apex of his career as an accountant in one of the best banks in the country. Obiano added, “They are talking of change. What are they coming to change? Are they coming to change the payment of civil servants that is done on or before the 25th of every month or the face of Awka that looks like Dubai? What are they coming in to do?”]]>
