The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has warned that terrorists and other violent criminals will find no sanctuary anywhere within Nigeria’s territory, assuring that the Nigerian Army will intensify and sustain high-impact operations to decisively defeat terrorists and other non-state actors across the country.

Lt.-Gen. Shaibu issued the warning on Tuesday while addressing troops during his maiden operational visit to the 4 Special Forces Command and the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Doma, Nasarawa State.

In a statement by the Army’s spokesperson, Colonel Apollonia Anele, the COAS emphasised the strategic importance of precision-driven, intelligence-led operations in dominating the battlespace, noting the Special Forces remain at the forefront of the campaign to dismantle and neutralise criminal networks threatening national security.

He urged Special Forces troops to intensify and sustain high-impact operations aimed at decisively defeating terrorists and insurgents nationwide.

After receiving detailed operational briefings from the Commander of 4 Special Forces Command, Major General Olurotimi Azubuike Awolo, and the Commandant of the Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Brigadier General Umar Faruk Abubakar, the Army Chief expressed satisfaction with the current operational outlook and training standards.

He approved the prompt construction of additional accommodation blocks and key facilities to strengthen training capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and support troop welfare.

The COAS said the welfare of personnel and their families remains a top priority under his leadership, emphasizing that a well-supported, professionally grounded force is essential for sustaining operational dominance.
