The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has announced the recruitment of 1,050 graduate trainees.

The NNPC said in a statement on Friday that it had concluded its 2019/2020 employment exercise.

The corporation said on June 2, 2019 that it conducted Computer-Based Test for about 60,000 candidates in 94 centres who applied for various vacant positions.

The Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari, was quoted in the statement as saying that the Human Resources Division of the NNPC had since commenced the issuance of provisional offers of employment to the 1,050 fresh employees.

He described the recruitment as a very important assignment for the corporation, saying the outcome of the exercise reflected national spread and complied with all statutory requirements.

He said the recruitment in the corporation would be a continuous process, adding that the Experienced Hire component of the exercise would be addressed in due course.

“We look forward to warmly receiving our new team members and working with them to build a corporation that all Nigerians will be proud of,” Kyari added.

According to the statement, the 2019/2020 recruitment exercise kicked off via nationwide adverts in the national dailies and online media on March 13, 2019, followed by shortlisting of qualified candidates which commenced on March 27, 2019.

It said shortlisted candidates sat for the CBT across the country on June 1, 2019, while interviews were conducted in July 2019.
