The Council of Legal Education has released the 2025/2026 Bar Part II Academic Calendar for the Nigerian Law School across its seven campuses in Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, Kano, Yola, Yenagoa, and Port-Harcourt.

The academic calendar, signed by Dr. Olugbemisola T. Odusote, Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, outlines a comprehensive three-term programme spanning from March 2026 to December 2026.

The academic session will commence with a two-week registration/induction/mock trials period from Monday, March 2nd to Friday, March 13th, 2026.

Lectures will commence on Monday, March 16th, 2026, running for nine weeks.

The first term will feature:

  • 1st Term BOB Dinner: Tuesday, March 21st to Thursday, March 23rd, April 2026
  • Director-General’s Address: Tuesday, April 14th, 2026
  • 2nd BOB Dinner/Lectures End: Tuesday, May 12th to Thursday, May 14th, 2026
  • Lecture Ends: Thursday, May 14th, 2026
  • Pre-Externship Workshop: Thursday, May 14th, 2026

Second Term: May To August 2026

The second term will begin with a two-day pre-externship vacation from Friday, May 15th, 2026.

The externship programme will run for five weeks starting Monday, May 18th, with the following components:

  • Court Externship: Monday, May 18th to Friday, June 19th, 2026
  • Mid-Externship Vacation: Monday, June 22nd to Friday, June 26th, 2026
  • Chambers Externship: Monday, June 29th to Friday, July 31st, 2026
  • Post-Externship Vacation: Monday, August 3rd to Friday, August 7th, 2026

Third Term: August To November 2026

The third and final term will commence with portfolio assessment from Monday, August 10th to Friday, August 21st, 2026.

Lectures will resume on Monday, August 31st, running for six weeks until Friday, October 9th, 2026.

Key activities in the third term include:

  • Mock Registry Practice/NBA Conference: Monday, August 24th to Friday, August 28th, 2026
  • Mooting Activities by SRC Judicial Council/Mock Practice Registry Activities (Land, CAC, Multi-Door Courthouse, Law Clinic)/SRC Law Week/Mock Trials: Monday, October 12th to Friday, October 23rd, 2026
  • 3rd Term BOB Dinner: Tuesday, October 13th to Thursday, October 15th, 2026
  • BOB Annual Lecture: Thursday, October 22nd, 2026

Revision And Examinations

The calendar allocates one week for revision from Monday, October 26th to Friday, October 30th, 2026.

Bar Final Examinations will hold for one week from Saturday, October 31st to Saturday, November 7th, 2026.

Post Bar Final Examination Activities are scheduled for six weeks starting Monday, November 9th to Friday, December 18th, 2026.

According to the calendar, both the publication of results and the Call to the Bar dates are yet to be announced by the Council of Legal Education.
