The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Warri Branch has announced its upcoming Webinar Series 7.0, themed “Unlocking New Horizons: Opportunities for Legal Practitioners in Nigeria’s Energy Transition (Gas, Renewables, and Electric Power).”

The two-day virtual event, scheduled for November 26-27, 2024, aims to equip legal practitioners with the knowledge and resources needed to capitalize on the evolving energy value chain in Nigeria.

George Etomi, founding partner of George Etomi and Partners (GEP) and pioneer Chairman of the NBA Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), will lead a distinguished panel of speakers. The panel includes Mofesomo Tayo-Oyetibo, SAN, a commercial and litigation lawyer; Dr. Wisdom Enang, an energy expert and senior analyst; and Okezi Okah-Avae, General Counsel at Tetracore Energy Group.

The webinar will cover various aspects of the energy industry, including the opportunities arising from the constitutional devolution of electric power, which empowers sub-national governments to participate in power generation, transmission, and distribution. Attendees will also gain insights into the technical aspects of the industry and the drafting of specialized contracts in the gas value chain.

John Aruoture, Chairman of the NBA Warri Webinar Committee and a past Secretary of the Branch, will moderate the event. The webinar is open to all legal practitioners, regardless of their area of specialization, as it aims to provide valuable insights into practice growth opportunities within the energy sector.

Registration for the webinar is free and can be completed by filling out the online form at https://forms.gle/U1XL1YrbEKs1DfZE6. The event will be held virtually via Zoom, with sessions starting at 3 PM WAT (2 PM GMT) on both days. Attendees are encouraged to join the session 15 minutes prior to the start time.
