A member of NBA Port Harcourt Branch, Mr. Ekine Egbelekro has filed a suit in the Rivers State High Court, Port Harcourt. The plaintiff, in the suit marked PHC/1565/2018 is challenging the constitution of the 2018 NBA Port Harcourt Branch electoral committee and the deliberate omission of his name from the 2018 NBA Port Harcourt Branch election voters’ list. TheNigerialawyer(TNL) gathered that the pre-election matter came up on the 12th of July, 2018, for the second time. The claimant was disenfranchised despite paying his dues and attending meetings as prescribed by NBA constitution as the conditions precedent for one to be eligible to vote in the election. Promise W. Ekwueme, Esq counsel to the claimant had filed a motion to join the Incorporated Trustees of NBA, Sylvester N. Adaka and Tonye Sipoto-Pepple to the suit as necessary parties. Mrs. M. A. Essien, SAN, entered a conditional appearance for Mr. Victor Omubo Frank-Briggs (1st Defendant), Mr. Tonye Krukrubo (3rd Defendant) and Mr. Bill Ukachukwu (4th Defendant). The 2nd Defendant, Mrs. Cordelia Uwuma Eke is yet to enter the appearance. The matter was adjourned to 22nd October 2018 after vacation.]]>
